A boundary with national park sends things at the openings, not at the walls.
Redlynch shares its boundary with Barron Gorge National Park at 3,001 hectares and Dinden National Park at 23,677 hectares and contains neither, and the Wet Tropics Management Authority records 52.4 percent of the Cairns local government area as lying inside the World Heritage Area, so that vegetation is protected rainforest. Queensland Parks records a wildfire ignited on 4 October 2013 on the park boundary, burning about 35 hectares substantially inside the locality. The Queensland Fire Department states that ember attack is the most common way houses catch fire during bushfires, before, during and after the fire has passed. Queensland Government home preparation advice names windows and doors as the systems most building losses can be attributed to, tells homeowners to keep screens in good condition with tears or holes repaired, and suggests considering steel wire mesh screens on windows, doors, vents and weep holes. The same openings carry a second and quieter duty: under the Public Health Regulation 2018 (Qld) an owner of a building must take reasonable steps to stop rats and mice entering it, and the regulation's own example of a reasonable step is covering a hole securely with wire. We make doors and window screens to the openings a house actually has, manufactured in Cairns rather than supplied in stock sizes, and we repair failed hardware on what is already fitted, on site.
